Below, I’m sharing my current WIPs and latest finishes!
I love having multiple projects on the needles, and I have a method for keeping it interesting without getting overwhelmed if you’re interested.
Knitting Plans
Ranunculus
I missed the boat on this one, probably because I don’t like the featured photo, but I watched the Black Cat Knit Co podcast where she showed all of her different versions, and now I have to try it!
I’m planning to make a t-shirt version in Manos del Uruguay Alegria in Aloha.
Knitting Works in Progress
Please note that this list does not include frogged projects.
Peggy DRK Everyday Cardi
Andrea Mowry is a master of knitting patterns and knitting advice (see my recommended knitting podcasts list). For this cardigan you can choose the knit-side or purl-side, and as soon as I saw her wear it with the knit-side facing out, I knew I had to make it.
I am LOVING this project. It’s all that I want to work on, and I’m in a flow state when I do – knitting for hours at a time. I added a steek so that I could knit it in the round.
It calls for a sport weight yarn, and I chose Malabrigo Arroyo in Peggy, which I haven’t used in a long time, and I am loving it so much. It is the sport-weight version of Rios, and it’s going to be a new go-to yarn for me.
Update 7/20/25: Double-knit button bands are new to me and going much slower than expected. My row gauge is 10% looser than the pattern gauge, so I recalculated the pick up rate and button hole spacing. I am NOT looking forward to weaving in all of the ends – that will be a whole evening.
Malabrigo Arroyo in Peggy
I can’t wait until this one is finished, I just need to find the perfect buttons!
Hypotenuse Wrap
Like many people, I was swept up into the Half and Half Triangles Wrap craze. And I tell you, it’s a great little lap blanket, but I just can’t do the square shawl. So this is my attempt at a scarf shaped half and half wrap.

Below Horizon Orchid No Me Olvides Merrily Marled Bun Hat
I’m basing this one off of the colors that I used for my aunt’s (below), except I switched out English Rose for Orchid. I like the orchid better than the english rose on its own, but in the hat, english rose might be better. I plan to modify this one to be a bun hat, binding off after the first couple of decrease rounds instead of closing it. I usually wear my hair in a bun, so I think it will be more practical. If it works well, I’ll add it as a variation to the pattern!

Malabrigo Lace in Orchid
Malabrigo Lace No Me Olvides
Blue Surf Snowbound Turtle Dove Cardigan
I LOVE to make my own unique yarn by holding multiple strands of yarn together, and I LOVE shopping my stash, and that’s exactly what I’m doing with the Turtle Dove Cardigan. I had enough Malabrigo Lace in Blue Surf to hold double and add 1 strand of Brooklyn Tweed in Snowbound. But I’m playing yarn chicken with the Brooklyn Tweed on the sleeves…
Update 3/21/25: I won yarn chicken! But – I don’t think the fit is for me. I wish I had modified the pattern to divide the sleeves at a normal place. I just don’t think I’ll wear it with such a deep sleeve divide.
Popular Spiral Shlanket
This is a design in progress. Should we start calling those DIPs? I was inspired by the sleeves on Galinda’s spiral sleeves in her popular dress. I am using an Emma’s Yarn Mo-Slub bundle. So far this ‘shlanket’ is lighter than air. The ‘blanket’ part of the name might get dropped. It might just be a shawl. Stay turned! Update 2/23/25: I’m about to bind off and can’t wait to block it. It is lighter than air!
Update 3/21/25: This turned out so cool! The combo of a slub and mohair really makes the slub and knit stitch anatomy stand out.
Below Horizon English Rose No Me Olvides Merrily Marled
I’m knitting another Merrily Marled beanie! I’m partial to this pattern (I wrote it myself) because it fits everyone and it is SO MUCH FUN to play with the colors. I’m going to re-release the pattern based on this version for my aunt. I am so in love with the colors. If I have enough yarn left, I may make an exact copy for me, which I NEVER do. I’ve settled on fingering + lace + lace as my favorite combo, so I want the pattern to reflect that.
Beam Me Up Tinsel Mitts
I made mittens for my toddler since it was so cold and she only wanted to be outside. I had enough yarn left from her newborn mittens, so they match, and I can’t get over it. I plan to make myself some from the same pattern, but I haven’t decided the yarn yet.
