I live a low maintenance, high standards lifestyle. As such, I’m looking for the best of the best products. For buy-it-once items, I’m looking for “the one.” For consumables, if I can “Decide Once,” a la The Lazy Genius, I can decrease decision fatigue and do some things on auto-pilot.
These are my favorite things for beauty, fashion, organization, home, and life. Enjoy!
Life
Sometimes we have things we just can't live without.
Move aside, Stanley. This is THE water bottle. You can sip from a straw or chug from the spout in the same place! And the lid locks. And you can carry it around with one finger by using the cute little pop up handle that does double duty when closed to block the button from being pressed while it’s in your bag. It can be put in your bag and not spill! It does great in the dishwasher. It comes in so many cute color combos. Need I go on?
I got this for my daughter’s baths when she was a newborn. Turns out it’s an essential for anybody. The ideal bath is between 99-102 degrees Fahrenheit. This turtle will help you make sure it’s perfect - whether for yourself or a youngster.
Beauty & Fashion
I'm a low makeup casual gal. Most days I work from home in yoga pants and a t-shirt with no makeup. If I do go somewhere, I don't go all out. These are my standby beauty and fashion items.
If you hate sunscreen but like facial oils, this will be your new best friend. It feels amazing and a little goes a long way.
Dare I say that I’ve found it? The One. This is my favorite moisturizer that I’ve ever used. It’s rich and lasting, but not heavy. The anti-aging benefits are just a happy extra. Thank you to Dr. Shereene Idris (YouTube) for convincing me to try this. I’m almost done with my first jar and I will definitely be buying another.
This is the best feeling lip balm stick I’ve ever used. It’s so soft and not sticky. And you can use it one handed because of the unique design. And it comes in different flavors - my favorite is the vanilla.
The NEST fragrances are my favorite. I love the rollerballs - you just need a little on the inside of your elbows. You know it's there, but it's not too much. I started with a discovery set and picked my favorite for each season.
I wear yoga pants every single day that I work from home and most other days. These are cotton, so they breathe, which is extremely important if you live in them.
Organization
I like to keep things organized within reason, and I like to maximize storage space.
This is the easiest, most affordable way I've found to maximize storage space. I have one on the inside of my daugher's closet door for bows, socks, etc., one inside my office closet door for all of the random office supplies, and one inside the water closet for feminine items.
If you like to journal or keep organized lists, these highlighters are fabulous. They come in every color but are less fluorescent than standard highlighters. They're so pretty!
Home
This frame is great! We got one for ourselves and one for each set of grandparets. There’s a companion app that you can use to send photos to the connected frames, and you can sync it with albums in your photo library. I have an album where I put the best of the best photos, and those are automatically loaded onto the frame.
This heated throw blanket is the definition of cozy. Dotty, my yorkie, loves it, too.
Before the above blanket, a got a couple of these heating pads. They are gentle, comfortable, and easy to use. One lives on the floor for Dotty to curl up on whenever she wants.
I finally found a worthwhile stick vac! This one can pick up long hair without tangling (really!!) and cheerios, which is essential for my current life. I LOVE it.
The bristles are flexible, you dont have to bend down to use the dustpan, and the dustpan has built in teeth to clean the broom bristles as needed. It's perfect.
My previous stick vacs or stick vac contenders have: died, been too short to pick up a cheerio, not worked on carpet, or required changing out a head to switch between hard floors and carpet, not worked once hair was wrapped around the brush - no, thank you.
I'm an aspiring plant lady. This watering can is great. It's small, so it's easy to put somewhere convenient, and the skinny spout makes it easy to water things without drips.
