As a foodie who loves to bake and makes homemade meals most of the time, I have opinions on kitchen gadgets. I’ve been through many over the years. Some have been donated to Goodwill, others I still have and use regularly. The list that follows is the best of the best. Any of these would make a wonderful gift for a fellow foodie, someone who uses their kitchen, or someone just building up their kitchen supplies.
This pepper mill grinds smoothly and is sturdy. Other pepper mills I've owned have broken with wear and tear.
Put the lemon in the juicer cut side down, squeeze, and get more juice than you thought possible. It works with limes and small oranges, too.
Feel like a fairy godmother while dusting your lemon bars with powdered sugar. It works great for cocoa powder and flour, too.
Pro tip: Store it in the powdered sugar container so that it just lives there and is only used for one thing (meaning that you don't need to wash it every single time).
These don't roll up as you're putting it on the baking sheet, and they are already cut to the exact right size for a standard home kitchen baking sheet.
The weight and pointy tip make scopping frozen ice cream a breeze. Bonus: It's stainless steel, which means that dishwasher detergent doesn't eat away the finish over time like some others I've had.
This is just as wonderful as a certain name brand at a fraction of the price. And I love the rounded bottom, which makes it a breeze to clean.
This is worth every square inch of counter space. It makes perfect toast, perfect bagels, perfect frozen pizza, and any other small baked good.
Pro Tip: The compact size is important for toast purposes. My mom has a bigger fancier one, but it makes terrible toast because the toast is too far from the element.
